The National Board of Review doesn't want to grow up either, it seems, as they chose Finding Neverland — the story of Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie (Johnny Depp) and his relationship with the young boys who inspired the story — as their best picture of the year. The NBR is typically the first film group of the winter season to announce their award winners, and in recent years have brought early attention to such underseen films as Monster's Ball, Quills, and American Beauty.

The group also picked Jamie Foxx (Ray) as best actor, Annette Bening (Being Julia) as best actress, Thomas Haden Church (Sideways) as best supporting actor, and Laura Linney (Kinsey) as best supporting actress.

The group's top 10, in order: Finding Neverland, The Aviator, Closer, Million Dollar Baby, Sideways, Kinsey, Vera Drake, Ray, Collateral and Hotel Rwanda.
