Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello churns out riffs from another dimension, so it's fitting he'll appear in a spring episode of UPN's ''Star Trek: Voyager.'' In 1998, the Trekker/rocker called series producer Rick Berman for a cameo in the film ''Star Trek: Insurrection'' (Berman agreed; one of his sons loves Rage).
Alas, after hours in alien makeup, Morello got lost in a crowd shot. But in January, he beamed up again. ''This time, we told him he'd play a human,'' says Berman. While Morello's Starfleet officer has only a few lines, Berman reports, ''he did a great job. It was a little pick-me-up for everyone.''
