ABC's legal drama ''The Practice'' will be welcoming a new cast member this season. Unfortunately, we can't tell you who it is, or even if it's a he or a she. According to Bill Breech, an executive producer of the seven time Emmy winning series, costar Kelli Williams is about two months pregnant. Williams, 30, is married to writer Ajay Sahgal. This will be the couple's second child, joining son Kiran, 2.
Normally, a TV series will employ bulky clothing, obscure camera angles, and a truncated taping schedule to conceal a star's delicate condition, as was done with ''Everybody Loves Raymond'''s Patricia Heaton and ''The X-Files'''s Gillian Anderson. But creator David E. Kelley will once again buck conventionality by working Williams' pregnancy into the show's plotline. This shouldn't be too difficult a challenge, however, because her character, attorney Lindsay Dole, got hitched in the series' season finale to Dylan McDermott's Bobby Donnell. Talk about timely nuptials.
