SPLITS Prince got his name back, but -- alas! -- he may have lost his heart. The New York Post reports that the pop star's longtime girlfriend, Mayte Garcia, has left him for a younger beau. The dancer has reportedly hooked up with choreographer Wade Robson, 18, who has worked with the likes of Britney Spears, 'N Sync, and Janet Jackson. Garcia and the artist once known as the Artist wed in 1996, but they quickly annulled the marriage. Since then, speculation has flown about the nature of their alliance. Earlier this year Prince commented on the relationship at a press conference. ''It's always been difficult to discuss because I always wanna be on record for speaking the truth about it,'' he said. ''And together? We're all together here. Married? We're all kind of married here. Intimate? Words are interesting. The clearest that I could put it was she does her thing, I do my thing. Sometimes we do our thing together.'' Talk about great choreography.
LEGALESE It looks like Anna Nicole Smith will get her dough after all. A judge said today that he will award the ex Playboy model some $449 million in her court battle with Pierce Marshall, son of her late 90-something husband. ''I'm so excited,'' Smith told Houston's KPRC-TV. ''No one ever took care of me in my whole life, and this man did and I loved him for that.'' Marshall called the ruling a ''miscarriage of justice'' and vowed to appeal. But we'll wait for the TV miniseries.
REEL DEAL ''Barbarella'' returns! Sort of. Warner Bros. and Twenytieth Century Fox are cofinancing and coproducing a film inspired by the 1960s Jane Fonda sci-fi flick, according to the Hollywood Reporter. ''Go'' scribe John August has been hired to script the new version, which is pitched as a union of sci-fi and Woody Allenesque sex comedy. It will be based on two later books in Jean Claude Forest's French comic book series. But this doesn't have anything to do with the impending writers strike.
CASTING Edward Norton is MIA in ''Hart's War,'' the WWII movie that would have reunited the ''Fight Club'' star with ''Primal Fear'' director Gregory Hoblit. According to Variety, Norton's decision to drop the project has been credited to the usual ''creative differences''.... ''Sex and the City'''s Sarah Jessica Parker'' will star in the romantic comedy ''Life Without Dick,'' according to the Hollywood Reporter. Presumably this is also a major departure of sorts.
