WHOOPS Disney is grappling with an embarrassing glitch that's turned up in copies of the DVD for ''Toy Story 2.'' The video -- which the company expects will be its best selling ever -- has turned up at Costco stores with footage in the middle of the movie from the R rated ''High Fidelity.'' And (gasp!) the F-word is used TWICE. Buena Vista Home Entertainment is blaming the fiasco on the studio's manufacturer, Technicolor Videocassette and swearing to the high heavens that it only affects about 1 percent of the videos (Last year, Technicolor shipped ''Pinocchio'' DVDs that had DreamWorks' ''The Prince of Egypt'' on them.). Costco has pulled the delinquent copies off shelves and is waiting for a new shipment. ''We are confident that the defective product has been isolated and removed from store shelves,'' Disney said in a statement. But that's just not good enough for Joe Lieberman!
TV NEWS NBC is defending itself against statements made by the Russian government(!). Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov said Monday that the space station Mir -- where the net is hoping to send winning contestants of its upcoming Mark Burnett series ''Destination Mir'' -- will likely be allowed to drop out of orbit and crash into the Pacific Ocean in February. But the Peacock paid Burnett about $40 million for the series and execs are not about to let it go. NBC is ''excited and supportive of 'Destination Mir,' and our development of the series will continue as planned. We have every faith in Mark Burnett as a producer, and as far as we are concerned, the countdown has begun for the series liftoff next fall,'' the network said in a recent statement. Guess the contestants better be strong swimmers.

BIRTHS TLC's Tionne ''T-Boz'' Watkins and her husband Mack 10 announced the birth of their baby girl. The child, born Friday in Los Angeles, is named Chase. They're still working on a ''Middle Name.''

Anne Heche will be turning up this season on three episodes of ''Ally McBeal'' -- just in time for November sweeps. Heche will play a high strung client in need of legal aid, according to the Hollywood Reporter (since Robert Downey Jr. has already taken the role of Ally's potential love interest).
DEATH Gospel musician Bob MacKenzie has died of heart failure. The Grammy winning artist who mentored such acts as the The Imperials and the Oak Ridge Boys passed away just days before he was to be inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. He was 62.
