Mostly, Dude, Where's My Car? feels lost in the '90s, veering from unfunny alt rock novelty songs (Zebrahead's ''Playmate of the Year,'' LiveonRelease's ''I'm Afraid of Britney Spears'') to generic alt rock, via Harvey Danger and Grand Theft Audio. And when it hits the tired '80s nostalgia of Young MC's ''Bust a Move,'' it's clear the whole enterprise has run out of gas.
