DECEMBER 1410-11:30PM Scorsese on Scorsese (TCM, TV-MA-L) Did you know Robert De Niro's ''You talkin' to me?'' speech in Taxi Driver was improvised as producers clamored to get director Martin Scorsese back on the shooting schedule? That's one nugget from this fascinating clipfest, in which Scorsese himself waxes anecdotal on great films like Raging Bull and GoodFellas while (thankfully) skipping less iconic works. But the format lets dubious claims go unchallenged: Can any viewer of Gangs of New York swallow Scorsese's assertion that he didn't want to depict graphic violence after 1995's Casino? B+ Thom Geier
8-9PM The Christmas Special Christmas Special (Bravo) Queer Eye fashion expert Carson Kressley narrates an examination of holiday-themed TV specials. If anyone can explain how Bing Crosby and David Bowie wound up doing a duet on ''Little Drummer Boy,'' Carson can.

11PM-12AM Duran Duran: Bailey's The Set (VH1) As a warmup for their Astronaut World Tour, Duran Duran kicks off this new series about the interlocking relationship between bands and fans. Bands perform in front of small studio audiences instead of the usual arena crowd, and interviews with band members and fans are interspersed throughout the show.
