All Things Must Pass

EW's GRADE
A-

Details Lead Performance: George Harrison; Genre: Reissues

Arguably rock's first boxed set, George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, returns to celebrate its 30th birthday, with brighter remastered sonics and the requisite inconsequential bonus tracks. Harrison and Phil Spector's Wall of Krishna Sound is still majestically congested, and the songs are so strong that the ex- Fabber would never top them. Even the jams (needlessly ''restored to their true sequence'') feel refreshing in their looseness. Alas, ''My Sweet Lord 2000,'' Harrison's note for note remake of the album's biggest hit, is a huge spoiler, not to mention holy -- er, wholly -- unnecessary.
