If these are the songs worth saving for the last dance, what the hell was playing before? Digging into the hip hop and R&B archives for the Save the Last Dance soundtrack, the producers mostly mine retread duds and a few relics: Chaka Demus & Pliers' ''Murder She Wrote'' has been dull since 1993 and the late Notorious B.I.G.'s presence on 112's ''Only You'' betrays its age. One highlight: Lucy Pearl's ''You'' has Snoop Dogg coming as close to crooning as he probably ever will.
