NO. 1 AT THE BOX OFFICE
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael the kung-fu-fighting, pizza-loving ''heroes in a half shell'' made a surprising amount of green with their movie debut. By its second week of release, the kids' action flick had earned more than $42 million in the U.S. (its total worldwide gross: more than $200 million). Also worth a ''cowabunga!'': The movie's credits list a young Sam Rockwell, star of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and this month's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as ''Head Thug.''
