Unlikeliest Comeback
MONSTER-IN-LAW (2005)
Who would have expected two-time Oscar winner and serious political activist Jane Fonda to end her 15-year self-imposed exile from the screen by taking second billing in a Jennifer Lopez comedy? Asked why she signed on to the role of Viola Fields, a woman trying to sabotage the engagement of her son (Michael Vartan) and his fiancée (Lopez), Fonda told EW: ''I wanted to have fun. And I've never played anybody like [Viola Fields]. Totally over-the-top, outrageous. I loved it I want to do a sequel.''
