We'll give this creepy remake an edge over the 1971 original because it stars the rodent-like Crispin Glover as the title misfit who breeds an army of rats in his basement and trains them to attack his tormenters. Rats by the hundreds swarm everywhere (even emerging from a toilet) to attack cats, dogs, people, cars, and Willard himself. Creepiest of all is the humongous and vicious Ben, a huge rat who (in the original film) inspired a sequel and a Michael Jackson love song, sung this time around by Glover. Ewww.
