McPhee's pop album is something of a question mark since she spent much of her summer breaking bones, fighting off laryngitis, discussing her bout with bulimia, and cohosting The View. Due in the studio once the Idol tour ends, McPhee will reportedly record a pop-inspired album. But, points out John Ivey, programming director at KIIS FM in L.A.: ''Katharine is a complete wild card. It doesn't seem like she's going to be contemporary like Kelly [Clarkson], and I don't think she's got country potential.'' (Cough) Diana DeGarmo (cough).
