Snakes on a Plane (2006)
You don't necessarily have to have a good movie to have a good moviegoing experience, and for me, SoaP is Exhibit A. The sillier it got, the more fun I had. I may not have had a bigger laugh at the movies all year than when Mr. Bad Guy finishes his workout and emphatically tells his doubting henchman he had ''exhausted every option'' for killing a murder witness that is, every option before loading hundreds of exotic deadly snakes aboard a commercial flight the witness is traveling on. (Wondering which options got crossed off the list before he said, ''Yeah, that's the one!'' fueled my dinner conversations for two days.)
I bought my ticket hoping to see cheesy snakes [check] dispatch goofy character types [double-check] in increasingly ridiculous scenarios [triple-check]. Not everybody's idea of a good time, I suppose, but it worked for me. When it was over, one of my friends seriously suggested staying and watching it again; as the hook of the theme song slithered into my head as its video played alongside the closing credits, I very nearly went for it.
