AMY WINEHOUSE
A recently cancelled tour, erratic performances, and regular appearances in the tabloids couldn't keep the 24-year-old British soul chanteuse from snagging six major nominations for her breakthrough release Back to Black, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, who helped announced the nominees, gushed to EW, ''Amy's voice is great and her lyrics are great. All the drama and the background aside, I think it's just a good record.'' The biggest question? Whether she'll actually make it to the ceremony; the answer, perhaps, is hidden in her beehive. (A report at People.com said she is ''determined'' to be there. Stay tuned...)
