Alicia Keys
Presumably testing whether or not Alicia Keys could still cut it under even the most trying of circumstances, the Grammy organizers had the singer open the show and perform a duetted version of Frank Sinatra's hit ''Learnin' the Blues,'' alongside a video representation of Ol' Blue Eyes himself. Like most such ''collaborations,'' this had the distinct feel of a George A. Romero zombie flick. But Keys' frisky take on the song helped you half-believe that Frank was still alive, and not currently the main musical attraction at the great Mob sitdown in the sky. Later in the evening, Keys would return for a thunderous version of ''No One,'' accompanied this time by the not-dead John Mayer.
