Trenyce may not have been crowned the American Idol of season 2, but she has found success... in Russia. EW caught up with the 26-year-old Memphis native just as she was returning home from Moscow, following a tour with '90s artists Wanda Dee and The KLF. (Dee, who's also the wife of Trenyce's manager, promoted Trenyce from a backup singer to a featured performer after noticing the Idol star's gifts.) When she's not warbling in the former U.S.S.R., Idol's first one-named wonder stays busy prepping for a starring role as Deena Jones in the Indianapolis tour of the musical Dreamgirls (opening this June) and recording her first album with the help of some familiar faces. ''Ruben [Studdard] and I got in the studio a month ago,'' she says. ''It was really great to work with him on a different level.''
