Season 4's early front-runner mysteriously dropped out of the competition because ''I could take more advantage of my opportunities if I did it my way,'' he says. Sure enough, he signed with Arista Records last year. Vazquez's debut album hits stores this summer. ''It's gonna be perfect!'' he boasts. Cocky? Maybe so, but with a lineup of urban-pop hitmakers like Ne-Yo, Soul Shock & Karlin, the Underdogs, and Lester Mendez on board, perhaps his confidence is justified. But is he afraid of the Idol stigma? ''Stigma, shmigma,'' he replies. ''I just want to live comfortably and continue to do what I love.''
