Biggest ''Finally'' Moment
Martin Scorsese's victory
The eighth time was finally the charm for Martin Scorsese, and everyone in the Kodak Theatre knew it, giving him a standing ovation as he finally won the first Oscar of his brilliant career. Visibly moved, the fast-talking director thanked not only his collaborators on The Departed but also everybody who'd ever approached him on the street or in an elevator saying he deserved an Academy Award. The teary-eyed Scorsese said he was especially honored to receive the award from presenters Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg, three old friends with whom he'd helped revolutionize Hollywood filmmaking 30 years ago.
