There's no doubt about it — as stoned surfer Jeff Spicoli, Penn put the high in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Soon after, he abandoned what was clearly a comedic gift and went on to more serious work (leading to four nominations, including a Best Actor win for Mystic River). But let's be honest: Even though Oscar chronically mistreats comedy performances, the actor will always be most fondly remembered for banging Vans sneakers on his head and yelling ''That was my skull. I'm so wasted!'' As well he should be.
