This Ridley Scott-directed Apple ad for the Macintosh computer is still memorably eerie more than two decades after its first airing — no doubt because of its spooky images (inspired by George Orwell's vision of the future in 1984) and the magnitude of its pronouncement that the Mac — then brand new — would be a pioneering machine.
