KATIE HOLMES
All My Sons (2008)
Official reviews of Mrs. Cruise's maiden voyage on Broadway have been fair to middling, but you can't fault her choice: Arthur Miller's haunting 1947 play about a family torn apart during WWII has a prime ingenue role, and she gets to share the stage with acting royalty (John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest). Plus, having Patrick Wilson play your love interest is no small affair either. The reception so far has been good; the house has been packed since the very first preview (a true achievement in these financially troubled times), and her loyal hubby has already been spotted several times in the back of the theater. Will he follow in his lady loves' footsteps (see Nicole Kidman, later in this gallery) and take to the stage?
