KEVIN SPACEY
The Iceman Cometh (1999)
Audiences cameth in droves to see the Juilliard-trained, Oscar-winning actor earn his Tony (for Best Actor in a Play) as the murderous salesman Hickey in this revival of Eugene O'Neill's 1940 play. Clocking in at approximately four hours, the intense drama proved that Spacey didn't view Broadway as a mere vanity project, and established him as one of a handful of Hollywood A-listers (Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson) boasting a credible stage career. For the past three years, Spacey has devoted his life to theater, as artistic director of the Old Vic in London. And he's currently back on Broadway in another Tony-nominated O'Neill revival, A Moon for the Misbegotten.
