I've never seen American Idol...
American Idol is just one many popular shows I do not follow. Lost and 24 are also on that list. Here's the deal: Most of my television viewing happens between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., a wasteland littered with auto-insurance commercials. And, yes, I have a DVR — but it's filled with movies I'm not quite ready to erase. I realize that an EW.com editor who doesn't watch American Idol is like a lifeguard who doesn't know how to swim. But having colleagues like Slezak and Walton and Barrett (an otherwise smart and nice and good-looking bunch who share a boundless — and, frankly, troubling — passion for the show), I know I can safely splash about in the gentle shallows of AI ignorance. — Wook Kim
