That Chris Martin sure can croon. On his band's breakthrough hit single, the charmingly wimpy frontman shows off his swoon-inducing falsetto, while the group works a simple chord progression to propulsive, shimmering effect. Best of all, it was written years before Martin became Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow, making all that romantic gushing somehow a little easier to swallow.
