Alf, ALF (1986-1990)
Planet Melmac native Alf may not have been human — his nickname is an acronym for ''Alien Life Form'' — but he still managed to become part of the Tanner family after his spaceship crashed into their garage. Sure, he had trouble understanding certain things, like how jigsaw puzzles work, or, say, the fact that cats shouldn't be part of one's dining experience. But his wisecracking, rock 'n' roll-loving nature made him anything but alien to us. — Bethonie Butler
