E.T., E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
What to say about the most famous alien of all time, and Spielberg's cinematic behemoth that shattered my youthful innocence with zingers like "penis breath"? E.T.'s glowing finger, his love of Reese's Pieces, the iconic bike-over-moon flying sequence not to mention the breakout role for a seven-year-old Drew Barrymore are still cherished childhood memories. It's been years since I saw this film (eight times in its first month of release alone), but its emotional moments still have me reaching for the tissue box. Adrienne Day
