Everyone from Willie Nelson (''On the Road Again'') to Mötley Crüe (''Home Sweet Home'') has tried to capture the long, hard slog of touring in song, but Silke Leicher and Manuel Shreiner wondered what musicians would conjure up if asked to draw a sketch of a place from their many travels that left an impression on them. With hundreds of original drawings from musicians in hand, they published the original version of a book, Bands on the Road, in Germany in October 2006; now, a U.S. version comes out on Oct. 24.
