4. PAN'S LABYRINTH
Pan's Labyrinth sticks out in my mind as one of those movies where you think the director will cut away but instead he looms over the violent scenes. I don't think the objective is for people to embrace violence; I think it's trying to show how ordinary [violence] can become to some, while being a total shock to others. Matt
