16. DAVID LETTERMAN
A tribute by Craig Ferguson: The reason Dave is a television icon is that he is simply the best at what he does. This is lucky for me because he is my boss, so sucking up to him is easy. I watched his NBC show when I was younger and since then he always epitomized ''cool'' to me, even though being called cool would probably mystify him. Dave is also plenty crazy, and in this era of homogenized talking suits it thrills me that he is so powerful with such apparent effortlessness. In my opinion, the torch was passed from Johnny to Dave, and the rest of us just bask in its glow.
