PRIDE & PREJUDICE (2005)
As a lifelong P&P fan, I've come to enjoy both screen adaptations of Jane Austen's classic. Yet I have to confess that last year's cinematic interpretation takes the cake in my book. (BBC version, you know I'll always have love for you, but I've moved on... let's try to make this a clean break, okay?) Keira Knightley perfectly embodies the feisty, bold Elizabeth Bennet, and Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Darcy is adorable, in an uptight, standoffish kind of way. The story of their clumsy yet perfect love connection is timeless. Snuggle up with the one you love, or simply find your hope in the sentiment renewed while watching the clever Lizzie marry the man of (our) dreams. Sophia Asare
