The 2006 season — 24's best — apparently tapped all the creativity needed to make 2007 any good. Instead, we suffered uncaptivating villains, more shivering from Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), and a robotic president (D.B. Woodside, pictured) who seemed to be reading from a user's manual. (''Talk Like a Humanoid Leader in Four Easy Steps. Bip-bop.'') 24's strength has never been dialogue, but wow, did every line just sit there, unemergency-like. End, world, end!
