OWEN'S BESTS
9. No End in Sight
In his superb documentary dissection of how
the Iraq war was bungled, after the invasion, by
an administration too arrogant to plan for
victory, Charles Ferguson puts the Bush team in the
crosshairs, yet soberly, with facts and information and
a telescopic vision, and without a twinge of ideological
harangue. The result is a true slice of history that, sadly,
became one more example of the Iraq-movie mantra:
''Audiences don't want to go.'' Which raises a question:
What, exactly, will have to happen to make them?
