9. BROTHERHOOD (SHOWTIME)
On ''the Hill'' — an Irish-run neighborhood in Providence — brothers act like enemies, gangsters promote family values, and cops resort to thuggery. In the drama's twisty second season, tarnished politician Tommy Caffee (Jason Clarke) peddles evildoing as pragmatism; his ailing hooligan brother Michael (Jason Isaacs) flirts with legitimacy in the shape of a suburban home and family. Neither tale has a happy ending. The Hill isn't a place you'd want to live, but it's definitely worth a visit.
