5. Angie (ABC)
Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond) wasn't nominated for an Emmy for her work on this sitcom, a midseason replacement in February 1979. But she did play a mother — this time, to Angie (Donna Pescow), a coffee shop waitress who marries a wealthy pediatrician. When the families meet, hilarity ensues. At least until the show was canceled in October 1980.
