LOVE'S FIRST BLUSH Ex-con Doug always seemed to have quite a thing for Julie. Too bad his marriage to her mother put the brakes on that for a while.
HAPPILY EVER AFTER? After years of pining, they eventually got together (after a proper mourning period for her mom, of course), but over the years Doug and Julie suffered many other assaults on their love. Today, through all the trials and tribulations, they remain a gold-standard couple in Salem, popping up for special occasions. (Side note: Their chemistry must have been pretty amazing — the real-life actors went on to marry each other, too.)
