INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE (1999)
The first black woman ever nominated for a Best Actress Oscar, Dandridge put a drop-dead gorgeous face on the struggle for equality in the Hollywood system, and American society at large. Halle Berry (who also executive produced) summoned grit and grace we didn't know she had to play this pop culture trailblazer, and was rewarded with an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her efforts.
