SOMETHING THE LORD MADE (2004)
In the annals of medical history, it is written that Vivien Thomas, a black surgical technician, was half of the team that invented cardiac bypass surgery. His efforts along with Dr. Alfred Blalock are all the more impressive once you consider that he never received a medical degree, and that he persevered while battling the forces of segregation. This HBO TV movie won a well-deserved Peabody Award.
