Why we're excited: Nine years after Boys Don't Cry (1999), writer-director Kimberly Peirce is back with an of-the-moment drama about a young Iraq War hero (Phillippe) who gets unexpectedly called back to duty after finishing his tour. The young ensemble cast is a virtual roll call of up-and-comers, including Tatum (Step Up), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Lookout), Rob Brown (Take the Lead), Abbie Cornish (Elizabeth: The Golden Age), and Mamie Gummer (Evening).
