2003: DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS

During what EW called ''the most electrifying South by Southwest in years,'' the Drive-By Truckers hypnotized crowds with their Lynyrd Skynyrd-inspired rock. The Athens, Ga.-based band have released eight albums to date, and have been making music with a consistently changing lineup since '96. Last month, the band put out its latest CD, Brighter Than Creation's Dark on the Austin-based label New West.
