2002: THE VON BONDIES

A year after the White Stripes rocked SXSW, along came the Von Bondies, another Detroit garage-indie rock band, whose debut album, Lack of Communication, was produced by the Stripes' Jack White. The disc, recorded in just three days, generated some hefty praise for the band, who followed up the disc with intense touring, including more appearances at SXSW.
