The busty actress Lana Turner earned the nickname ''The Sweater Girl'' after donning her form-fitting attire — a sweater and a skirt — in her 1937 film debut, about the trial and subsequent lynching of a man in the Deep South. It's funny, though: Turner only sauntered along a street in that knit for a moment, but she was remembered for it forever.
