Jennifer Jason Leigh, Last Exit to Brooklyn
Leigh is fearlessly unsympathetic as Tralala, who likes to think of herself as a hooker without the proverbial heart of gold, and who is horrified to discover (after a client, a sailor about to ship out, falls for her) that she may have one after all. In this adaptation of the bleak tome by Hubert Selby Jr. (Requiem for a Dream), everyone pays, none more than Tralala.
