WHEN STRANGERS APPEAR (2001)
Jack Barrett
SPOILER ALERT! Watson is about to reveal the end of this low-budget thriller, in which he stars as a mystery man who shows up at a diner and tells waitress Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black) that he's being chased by men (including Sweet Home Alabama's Josh Lucas) that want him dead. Should she believe him? ''He ends up being the good guy at the end of the movie,'' Watson says. ''Of course, he dies. I got to be electrocuted that was exciting.'' Also fun: shooting in New Zealand. ''No matter what job you have on a film over there, everybody's extremely excited about it. Everybody is a part of everything. Like, they had to do this stunt where this car drives in, and I'm out there with buckets of gravel to fix the skid marks for each take. I did craft services one day I think I made grilled cheese for everybody. It was a lot of fun, because over there, everybody really cares.''
