First comic: The Adventures of Asterix
This probably wasn't my first comic book, but it's the first one I remember. My parents bought an issue for me on a trip to Europe when I was 6, to shut me up on a train ride. ''Reading'' the comic was a peculiar, tantalizing experience. The drawings were so rich and complicated, yet I couldn't make any sense of the French text.
