Uwe Boll: Cinema's Worst Director?

BARSCHEL — MURDER IN GENEVA (1993)
Boll's second film is concerned with the mysterious real-life 1987 death of German politician Uwe Barschel and would dearly like to be considered a Teutonic version of Oliver Stone's JFK. But it's doubtful if this film could even spell JFK. In essence an oppressively dull one-act play, the movie stars Peter Schwab as a director attempting to convince Karl-Friedrich Gerster's producer to finance a project about Barschel's demise. ''It's a load of s---!'' says Gerster at one point of Schwab's script. The same could be said of Barschel — Murder in Geneva.
