HOUSE OF THE DEAD (2003)
House of the Dead was the first of Boll's movies to get a proper U.S. theatrical release, and the first of his many, many videogame adaptations. This remote-island-set horror movie is just plain incompetent, with inept action sequences, embarrassingly poor dialogue, and a climactic third-act swordfight that looks pathetic and, in a zombie movie, feels utterly wrong. References to Das Boot, Scarface, and Star Trek merely remind the viewer of better ways their time could be spent. Clint Howard plays a hook-handed sailor.
