Former pilot for Oceanic Airlines who was originally scheduled to fly Oceanic 815 on the day of its crash. (Did a drinking problem get him scratched?) Lapidus is convinced that the Oceanic 815 wreckage found at the bottom of the ocean is part of a cover-up conspiracy. He accepted the invitation to join the Island-bound freighter crew in hopes of finding the truth and exposing the scam, but one gets the feeling that the woozy, redemption-questing pilot is in wayyyyyy over his head.
