Even as the Sundance Kid became the Sundance Film Festival elder statesman, the perma-tanned golden boy continued to play romantic leads opposite much younger actresses; his GILF stage lasted at least from 1984's The Natural to 1998's The Horse Whisperer (in which the 61-year-old director cast himself opposite 37-year-old Kristin Scott Thomas).
