BEST ACTRESS, COMEDY

KEN TUCKER: Give it up for two Desperate Housewives: Both Dana Delany and Marcia Cross deserve noms, as does Mary-Louise Parker in Weeds, don't you think?
GILLIAN FLYNN: I think you're a bit cuckoo to leave the funniest Housewife, Eva Longoria Parker, off the list! Her tart delivery — half modern-day diva, half 1950s biddy — made for the sharpest moments of the season. And Julia Louis-Dreyfus naturally needs another nod for The New Adventures of Old Christine: Her ex-wife hilariously out-Desperates everyone.
KEN: I wonder: Have neither of us brought up Tina Fey because we think EW has done enough to promote her and her fine 30 Rock, or because she's been a little overshadowed by her costars this season? In either case, I'd go for another Fey nomination in this category...especially over one for the overrated America Ferrera in the dreadfully overrated Ugly Betty...
GILLIAN: Tina Fey is a super straight man, and she gets better each season, but...what you said. And I'm so in agreement with you on Ugly Betty — it hurts like a Day-Glo poncho! Ha! A poncho joke! Those are funny, I'm told. We've forgotten to mention one actress who headlines her own hit comedy: Christina Applegate on Samantha Who? I find her quite likable, but she doesn't make me laugh like my little JL-D.
